FAYETTEVILLE, Ark./TOPEKA, Kan. – Wichita State track and field claimed 22 top-three  finishes, including seven wins, over two days of competition at the Tyson Invitational and Ichabod Invitational.

Josh Parrish, the lone Shocker to compete at both meets, tied his personal best and school record time of 7.70 in the 60-meter hurdles to finish third in the university final of the Tyson Invitational before heading to Topeka to win the 60-meter hurdles at the Ichabod Invitational with a time of 7.73. Freshman
Keely Hoback claimed her first collegiate win to complete the hurdles sweep at the Ichabod Invitational with a time of 8.68.

The Shocker pole vault squad had a successful outing in Topeka as sophomore
Kylie Scott joined the four-meter club to win the women's competition with a clearance of 4.03m/13'2.5", and freshman
Liam Miller jumped a collegiate best of 5.13m/16'10" to place second in the men's competition. Scott moved up to No. 3 in the American Conference standings and No. 5 in program history, and Miller moved up to No. 4 in the conference and No. 10 in Wichita State history, the first addition to the men's pole vault all-time top-10 list since 2017. Sophomore
Shellamae Farmer cleared a personal-best bar of 3.93m/12'10.75" to take second and rank fifth in the conference, and freshman
Ty Bybee cleared a collegiate best of 4.93m/16'2" to place fourth and rank sixth in the conference.

Senior
Jelese Alexander claimed two top-three finishes, winning the 60-meter dash final for the second time this season with a time of 7.59 and placing second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.77m/5'9.75".

Sophomore
Chairo Ogbebor led the Shocker men to a 1-through-4 long jump sweep, claiming the long jump title with a season-best leap of 7.33m/24'0.75" as sophomore
Travon Williams took second with a mark of 7.32m/24'0.75", freshman Andre Pentecost placed third with a jump of 7.18m/23'6.75", and sophomore
Darius Graham took fourth with a mark of 7.16m/23'6". Over in the triple jump, redshirt-freshman
Asher Buggs-Tipton put up a big mark of 15.26m/50'0.75" to place second, rank fourth in the conference and move up to eighth all-time in program history.

Back on the track, junior
Jason Parrish ran a personal-best time of 21.42 to finish second in the 200 meters, moving up to No. 5 in program history. In the 800 meters,
Lea Jerkovic and
Audrey Parson finished second and third as Jerkovic ran a personal-best time of 2:12.24 to move up to No. 8 in school history and Parson ran 2:13.16.

The Wichita State women's distance medley relays teams finished first and second with the same time, running 12:01.32. The first-place team was comprised of
Kalyn Willingham,
Lexi Gagnon, Parson and
Faith Ekart, and the second-place team was made up of Jerkovic,
Hannah Glennen,
Jasmine Stiede and
Francesca Alvarado.

The men's 4x400-meter relay claimed victory with a time of 3:17.36, run by
Brock Merz,
Jason Parrish,
Josh Parrish and
Rikard Trogen Hedin, and the women's 4x400 relay team of
Andie Rasmussen,
Zakilya Zeigler,
Courtney Wilborn and
Sadie Millard finished second with a time of season-best time of 3:46.54.

At the Tyson Invitational,
Vivien Joritch Kipkorir finished third in the 3,000 meters with the fifth-fastest time in the American Conference this season, running 9:28.81 to move up to No. 5 in program history.

The Shockers return to the track on Friday, Feb. 20 to compete at Kansas State in the Steve Miller Invitational.
