Biography

High School: Competed for Steinbrenner High and then Sickles High School…Was a five-time district champion, winning the 110 hurdles in 2023, 2024, and 2025 and the 400 hurdles in 2024 and 2025… Was a four-time regional champion, winning the 110 hurdles in 2024 and 2025 and the 400 hurdles in 2024 and 2025…Was the 2024 4A state champion in the 110 hurdles…Set the Steinbrenner 110 hurdles record at 13.78 and the 400 hurdles record at 54.5…Set the Sickles 110 hurdles record at 13.54 and 400 hurdles record at 53.74…Won the 2024 Bill Shields Award, a county award recognizing an outstanding athlete in all sports…13-time All-American award winner, earned from performances across the USATF Junior Olympics, Adidas Nationals, New Balance Nationals and Club Championships…Three-time national champion, winning the 2022 USATF JO 110 hurdles title, the 2022 Club Champions 110-meter hurdles title, and the 2024 Adidas Nationals 60-meter hurdles title…Ranked No. 9 all-time in Florida high school history in the 110-meter hurdles…Was the club leader for FCA…Made the honor roll with a weighted GPA over 4.0.
 
Personal: Son of Sherman and Adia…Has two siblings, Nia and Nehemiah…Comes from a track and field family…Dad, Sherman, competed for Illinois, was a 4x All-American (2nd place – 1998 NCAA Indoor 4x400, 8th place – 2000 NCAA Indoor 400 meters, 7th place – 2000 NCAA Indoor 4x400, 3rd place – 2000 NCAA Outdoor 400-meter hurdles), was an nine-time Big Ten Champion and the 1999 Big Ten Athlete of the Year, made the 400 hurdles final at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials, competed professionally for five years for Nike Athletics and Santa Monica Track Club…Mom, Adia (McKinnon) competed for UCLA, was a 5x NCAA Championships qualifier and 2x All-American (4th place – 2001 NCAA Indoor 4x400, 4th place – 2003 NCAA Indoor 4x400), was the 2001 Pac-12 Outdoor 400 meters champion…Uncle, Shannon Armstrong, competed for Wichita State, was a 5x NCAA Championships qualifier and 1x All-American (7th place – 2004 NCAA Indoor 60-meter hurdles), was the 2004 MVC 60 hurdles champion, holds the Wichita State indoor 200 meters, indoor 60 hurdles, and outdoor 4x100 record as of July 2025
 
Outside of track and field, enjoys working with kids, working at his church as a student leader and teacher for middle schoolers…Majoring in business…Wants to become a Pastor at a church.
