WGolf: Shocks to Head to Stillwater for NCAA's

WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's golf team will head to Stillwater, Okla. to compete in the NCAA Regionals for the first time in school history, May 8-10 at Karsten Creek.

The Shockers earned the regional bid by winning their first Missouri Valley Conference Championship in school history last week, carding a 54-hole program record 900 (297-304-299) to defeat Indiana State by one shot.

Overall it was the third team championship in the program's history, as Wichita State won Gateway titles in 1987 and 1992.

Meghan Schuetz, Bryce Schroeder and Alejandra Arellano were each named to the MVC All-Conference Team and head coach Tom McCurdy was named the conference's coach of the year.

The Shockers will be fighting for a chance to head to the NCAA National Championship in Tulsa, Okla. at Tulsa Country Club, May 20-23.
