MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kate Tilma and Mackenzie Wilson both earned top 10 finishes to lead the Shockers to a third-place finish in the Powercat Invitational on Tuesday at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
 
Wichita State recorded rounds of 303, 303, and 319 for a total score of 925, 61 strokes over par. Host Kansas State cruised to the team title, finishing 27 strokes ahead of second-place Cincinnati.
 
Wichita State was topped only by Power Four opponents — the Wildcats and Bearcats — on its way to a fourth top-five team finish of the fall season. The four top-five finishes match the most for the Shockers in a single fall season since joining the American Conference in 2017-18. It's also the most top-five finishes in any season since 2017-18, when they recorded seven total.
 
In her return to her former home course, Tilma tied for seventh — her best finish of the year and the first time she has led the Shockers on the individual leaderboard this season.
 
Wilson notched her fourth top-10 finish of the season by tying for ninth, giving her four top-10 performances in five tournaments this fall. She is the first Shocker to record four top-10 finishes in a single fall season since Taryn Torgerson in 2017.

Overall, the fall season was a success for the Shockers, who recorded 11 individual top 20 finishes, four top five team finishes, and posted a record of 42-15.
 
The spring season begins for the Shockers on Feb. 8 in the Estrella Del Mar Invitational at Estrella Del Mar Golf Club in Mazatlan, Mexico.
