OMAHA, Neb. — Mackenzie Wilson and Kayla Van de Ven tied for fifth place to lead Wichita State to a third-place finish Tuesday at the Stampede at the Creek at Indian Creek Golf Course.
 
Wichita State recorded rounds of 297, 311 and 303 for a total of 911, finishing 47 strokes over par. The Shockers were five strokes behind Drake, which won the team title with a 906. Omaha's Katie Ruge claimed medalist honors with a 4-over 220.
 
The Shockers notched their seventh top-five team finish of the season and fourth top-three finish. It is the most top-five finishes in a season for Wichita State since 2018, when it also had seven.
 
Wilson saved her best round for last, firing an even-par 72 in the final round to jump 13 spots and tie for fifth. It marked her second top-five finish of the season and fourth of her career. Van de Ven set a career best by tying for fifth, surpassing her previous best of 10th. It was her third top-10 finish of the season.
 
Manon Guille also had a strong tournament, tying for 10th, matching her best finish of the season. Kate Tilma recorded her third top-20 finish in her last four tournaments, tying for 16th. None of the six Shockers finished outside the top 30.
