COLUMBIA, Mo. – Wichita State continued its strong season with another top-five team finish, placing third at Missouri's Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday.

Heavy rain canceled the tournament's final round midway through, reverting scores to totals after the first two rounds.

The Shockers carded rounds of 294 and 295 for a total score of 589, 13 over par, trailing only Kentucky (573, -3) and host Missouri (562, -14). Wichita State has now finished in the top five at all three tournaments this season. It's already the program's most top-five finishes in a season since 2018-19, when the team placed in the top five three times in nine tournaments.

Among the field, Wichita State topped Missouri State—one of the few teams to beat the Shockers this season—by seven strokes. The team also improved to 2-0 against American Athletic Conference opponents, finishing 23 strokes ahead of UAB.

Mackenzie Wilson led the Shockers once again, tying for fifth, the highest individual finish by a Shocker this season. Amelie Paul recorded her third consecutive top-20 finish, tying for 18th. The Shockers now have more individual top-20 finishes this year than they did all of last season.

Next up, Wichita State heads to Hutchinson, Kansas, for the Prairie Dunes Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma, Oct. 6–7 at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
