HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Wichita State women's golf begins competition in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate on Monday at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
Â
In their last tournament, Coach
Tom McCurdy's crew continued their excellence, finishing third in the rain-shortened Johnie Imes Invitational back on September 23. The Shockers have finished in the top five in all three tournaments so far this season. The three top-five finishes are the most for the Shockers in a season since 2018-19.
Â
Senior
Mackenzie Wilson has been the hottest of the Shocks in the early going, finishing in the top ten of all three tournaments this season. She had her best finish of the year at the Johnie Imes Invitational, tying for fifth.
Â
The Shockers are set to face their toughest field of the year so far at Prairie Dunes, as five competing teams appeared in the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) top 25 rankings on September 26. Seven competing schools hail from Power Four conferences. Two American Conference schools are also in the field in North Texas, and reigning American Conference champion, Tulsa.
