HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Wichita State women's golf placed ninth among 14 teams at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Presented by TDI on Tuesday at Prairie Dunes Country Club.

Rain on Monday shortened the tournament to 36 holes from the scheduled 54, with 18 being played on Monday and another 18 on Tuesday.

The Shockers notched rounds of 316 and 300 for a total score of 616, 56 strokes over par in a tournament filled with high scores at the challenging Prairie Dunes course. No. 14 Florida won the team trophy with a score of 573, 13 strokes over par.

Wichita State finished ahead of Power Four opponents Iowa (t-10th) and Nebraska (12th) and also topped American Athletic Conference foe North Texas. The finishes against Iowa and Nebraska marked the Shockers' second and third wins over Power Four competition this season

For the first time this season,
Kayla Van de Ven was the top finisher among the Shockers, tying for 25th.
Manon Guille's 18-hole score of 73 in round two was the best individual round of any Wichita State player in the tournament, highlighted by her first eagle of the season on hole 14.Â

The Shockers improved by 16 strokes from the first to second round, tied for the second-best team improvement with Eastern Michigan, trailing only Oral Roberts.

Next up, the Shockers end the fall in the Powercat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan., beginning on Oct. 20.Â
