NORMAN, Okla. -- Kristen Kosch posted a tournament score of 240, and finished tied for 21st as the Wichita State women's golf team finished 12th at the Susie Maxwell Berning Invitational, which concluded Monday at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Norman, Okla.
Kosch's 21st-placed finish was the best on the WSU scorecard. Krista Hrdlicka finished six strokes back, tying for 36th with a 246 while Megan Bartlett's 248 found her tied for 41st. Erin Coons and Ashley Parker rounded out the Shocker scorecard. Coons finished tied for 74th after posting a 260, while Parker carded a 263 to finish 82nd.
Competing as an individual, Courtney Chamberlin finished tied for 64th after posting a 256 in the 54-hole tournament.
As a team, the Shockers carded a team score of 992 and finished 12th in the 15-team event. Wichita State finished eight strokes behind 11th-placed SMU, and finished with an 11-stroke cushion over 13th-placed North Texas. Baylor won the tournament with a tournament score of 941. Creighton was the only other Missouri Valley Conference school competing in the tournament. The Bluejays finished 15th in the 15-team tournament, 44 strokes back of Wichita State.
The Shockers are back in action April 18 when they travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Golf Championships.
