1/29/2021 8:16:00 PM

WICHITA—The Shocker Invitational saw a trio of top-25 NCAA marks go down Friday inside the Heskett Center.

Antonio Norman and Joseph Holthusen ran 7.89 and 7.90, respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles. Norman's time puts him in a tie for 13th in the country and improves upon his No. 5 time in school history. Holthusen's time slots him in a tie for the 15th-best 60-meter hurdles performance in the NCAA.

Michael Bryan won the men's weight throw with a mark of 20.10m/65-11.50. The throw is a personal best for Bryan and puts him in a tie for No. 25 in the NCAA. Bryan's mark also moves him into fifth in the Shockers' all-time performance list.

Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Steve Rainbolt said Norman, Holthusen and Bryan had significant performances and that he was pleased with the way his athletes competed on Friday.

"A track meet like this is meant to progress through the season," Rainbolt said. "I feel like we saw a lot of things that won't show up on the results as spectacular performances, but I can think of a lot of great things that happened today. I think we had a lot of good developmental and training performances."

Davis Dubbert set a new personal best in the men's high jump, clearing 2.03m/6-7.75 for an individual event victory.

Dowdy Elazarig made his season debut and won the men's long jump. Elazarig jumped 6.86m/22-6.25 for the victory.

Nate Vann was another athlete who set a personal best Friday. He cleared 4.62m/15-1.75 in the pole vault for a new personal best and a second-place finish.

On the women's side, Cassidy Androff set a new personal best in the weight throw and broke into the Shockers' top 10. Her toss of 16.65m/54-7.50 puts her at No. 8 in school history in the women's weight throw.

Jacque Darby won the women's long jump. Darby's mark of 5.64m/18-6 earned her a second consecutive long jump victory this season.

Paula Garcia had a nice showing in just her second meet competing individually. She won the women's 400 meters with a time of 58.55. Garcia also finished as the runner-up in the women's 60 meters with a time of 7.73.
