TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  --  Wichita State's men's and women's track and field teams won the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Championship at the Gibson Track and Field Complex.

The Shockers sealed both titles mid-afternoon Sunday after two and a half days of competition with the women out-distancing second place UNI 155.5 to 133. The Shocker men ran away with the title, scoring 206 points to SIU's 132.

Saturday's lone Shocker champion was Jared Belardo in the triple jump with a distance of 50-11.00/15.52m, but overall the Shockers scored in all but five events out of 42 total men's and women's events.

On Sunday, Head Coach Steve Rainbolt was named to MVC's Men's and Women's Coach of the Year after coaching the Shockers to both titles.

On Sunday, Shockers also earning All-Valley with second or third place were the following:

-Men's 4x100m relay third in a time of 40.54 (Jared Belardo, Cody Scheck, Tucker Davis, Rhys Powell)
-Ugis Jocis third in the 1,500 meters with a time of  3:49.92.
-Hayden Bugner third in the pole vault with a height of 16-5.5/5.02m.
-Austin Corley second in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 51.71.
-Tucker Davis third in the 200 meters (21.01).
-Shazz Michael Lindo second in the triple jump (50-8.25).
-Brady Johnson third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:27.08.

Also scoring for the Shockers were:
-Annette Hodges sixth in the women's triple jump (39.2.25/11.49m) and Courtney Mills eighth (38.8.75/11.80m).
-Sadie Suenram seventh in the discus (151-9/46.27m).
-Women's 4x100 meter relay with a time of 46.35 (Morgan Prather, Deja Young, Raianna Maples, Taylor Larch-Miller).
-Rebekah Topham fourth in the 1,500 meters (4:30.52) and Emilea Finley seventh (4:33.70).
-Martieshia Caines eighth in the 100 meter hurdles (14.18).
-Jake James seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (27.16).
-Tucker Davis sixth in the 400 meters (47.69).
-Deja Young sixth in the 100 meters (11.93) and Raianna Maples seventh (11.96)
-Rhys Powell eighth in the 100 meters (10.60).
-Isaac Poe fourth in the 400 hurdles (52.55) and Jon Martin seventh (53.54).
-Sidney Hirsch sixth in the 5,000 meters (17:02.90) and Emilea Finley eighth (17:17.00).
-Claudia Rojo sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:01.96).
-Skylar Arneson sixth in the discus (165-11/50.58m).
-Men's 4x400 meter relay was sixth in a time of 3:17.38. 
-Women's 4x400 meter relay eighth in a time of 4:07.79 (Gavyn Yetter, Morgan Prather, Marteshia Caines, Taylor Thomas).
