WICHITA, Kan. – Select members of the Wichita State women's tennis team head west this weekend to begin competition at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Rebecca Pedrazzi was scheduld to compete in the Singles Pre-Qualifying draw on Saturday but withdrew prior to the match with an injury.
WSU's first tournament action will wait for Tuesday when Julia Schiller, one of 56 at-large selections to the Qualifying Draw, makes her debut. Schiller enters with a 3-1 record on the year.
The top 24 seeds in the tournament await the eight players who advance through the three Qualifying rounds. Main Draw action begins Thursday, Oct. 2 and concludes Sunday, Oct. 5.
WSU's lone doubles entrant, the team of Lucia Kovalova and Rebecca Pedrazzi, will bypass Pre-Qualifying and begin play Tuesday in the Qualifying Draw. The top four teams advance to the Main Draw later in the week.
The Qualifying and Main Draws have not yet been released but will be available, along with scoring updates, on the ITA's Tournament Central page.
