TULSA, Okla. – Wichita State's
Xin Tong Wang and
Giorgia Roselli each earned wins in the singles round of 16 at the 2025 American Conference Individual Championships on Thursday afternoon to advance to the singles quarterfinals.

After each had a first-round bye in singles, the Shockers each earned wins in the round of 16. Roselli, the No. 3 overall seed in singles, earned a swift 6-1, 6-1 win over UTSA's Valeria Sanchez.

Wang, meanwhile, faced a stiff challenge but ultimately prevailed. The top-seeded Shocker battled through three tight sets to defeat Tulane's Natalia Fantini 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Roselli will face the No. 5 seed in Charlotte's Sara Suchankova at 11:30 AM for a spot in the semis. In their meeting last season, Roselli took down Suchankova 6-0, 6-2 at court two on April 15 in a match Wichita State ultimately lost 4-3.

Wang will face South Florida's Melisa Senli, also with a scheduled start of 11:30 AM. Wang defeated Senli in their matchup last year on March 19 at court No. 1, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2, in a match the Shockers won 4-2 over the Bulls.Â

Before beginning singles play, the Shocker duo, who are the top seed in doubles, will face North Texas's Lou Chalard and Lilly Schultz at 9:00 AM for a place in the doubles semifinals.
