SEDONA, Ariz. — Magdalena Domine tied for eighth to lead Wichita State to a fifth-place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club on Sunday.
 
Wichita State recorded rounds of 299, 300 and 294 for a total of 893, finishing 29 strokes over par. Host Northern Arizona won the team title with an 854 (-10).
 
The Shockers recorded their sixth top-five finish of the season and third in a row. It was Wichita State's best finish at the Red Rocks Invitational since it began competing in the event annually in 2019.
 
In the first round, the Shockers kept pace early with first-place Northern Arizona but were unable to keep up down the stretch, falling into fifth place with a 299 (+11). Domine was the top performer in the round, finishing even par.
 
In the second round, it was more of the same for Wichita State, adding just one stroke to its total from the opening round. Kate Tilma and Domine each recorded 73s to pace the Shockers.
 
On the final day, the Shockers saved their best for last by shooting a 294 as a team, a six-stroke improvement. Domine again shot even par for the round, while Mackenzie Wilson did the same to jump 13 spots on the leaderboard.
 
Domine tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard, her first career top-10 finish and the highest individual finish by a Shocker during the spring season.
