WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State women's bowling team moved up to #4Â in the final edition of the National Tenpin Coaches Association poll, achieving their highest ranking of the season. The Shockers vaulted 13 spots from their initial NTCA preseason ranking, the largest jump from the preseason to the final poll of any team in the country.
National champion Youngstown State topped the poll, with Jacksonville State second and Nebraska third. Vanderbilt, North Carolina A&T, Arkansas State, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Maryville rounded out the top 10.
The Shockers went 87-38 in the program's first season of NCAA competition, claiming the Conference USA championship and winning the Lansing Regional to advance to the Final Four. Head coach

Ashtyn Woods,
Mary Orf and
Paige Wagner each earned All-America and All-Conference honors.
Wichita State won two regular season tournaments, the Columbia 300 Saints Invite and the Mid-Winter Invitational, plus a pair of runner-up finishes and a win at the exhibition Mid-States Championships. Along the way, the Shockers picked up 54 ranked wins, highlighted by seven straight in the Contender's Bracket of the CUSA Tournament to bring home the title.
