Women's Bowling Announces 2025-26 Schedule

9/1/2025 10:00:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. – Head coach Holly Harris and the Wichita State women's program finalized their 2025-26 schedule on Monday, featuring 10 tournaments ahead of the Conference USA Championship March 18-22 in Harahan, Louisiana.

Wichita State looks to build on a spectacular debut NCAA season that culminated in a trip to the 2024-25 NCAA Final Four in Las Vegas. The Shockers finished 87-38 and added both a CUSA tournament championship and Lansing Regional title to the program's lengthy list of accomplishments that includes 11 ITC National Championships.

"While the schedule looks slightly different than last year, it's going to be challenging once again," Harris said. "The goal is to be ready for tough matches come postseason, and I believe we've once again set ourselves up to be in a bunch of highly competitive matches. It's also really fun to kick off our season at home in front of all of our people. It's been a long summer, and we are ready to get out there and test ourselves against the nation's best."

The Shockers have an even regular season split of five fall tournaments and five spring tournaments before kicking off postseason play. Nine of the tournaments are on the road, with one home competition as Wichita State and Newman once again co-host the Mid-States Championships at Bowlero Northridge to open the season. Wichita State has won the Mid-States Championship 31 times since the competition began in the 1974-75 season, including last year when the Shockers defeated Sam Houston in the final. The Mid-States competition is classified as an exhibition due to the inclusion of non-NCAA teams in the field.

The regular season begins in earnest at the Destination Orlando tournament on October 24-26, hosted by Sacred Heart. From there, WSU hits the road for the Track Kat Klash in Houston, Texas, hosted by Sam Houston October 31-November 2. The Shockers stay in the Lone Star State for the Bulldog Classic November 7-9, hosted by Louisiana Tech, then wrap up the fall slate at the Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan, Louisiana November 21-23.

The spring schedule will be nearly identical to last season, as the Shockers make return trips to the Northeast Classic (January 16-18), Saints Invite (January 31-February 1), Big Red Invite (February 20-22) and Music City Classic (March 6-8). The lone new addition to the schedule is the Prairie View Invitational (January 23-25) in Arlington, Texas.

Wichita State seeks to defend their CUSA crown against a new field of opponents. The conference added Nebraska, Sacred Heart and Wright State as affiliate members, increasing the current league membership to 12 schools. The conference now boasts eight of the top nine teams in last season's end of season NTCA poll, including each of last year's Final Four participants (Youngstown State, Jacksonville State, Nebraska, Wichita State).

While Wichita State will no longer compete in the Intercollegiate Team Championships, individual WSU bowlers will attempt to qualify for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships to be held on March 13.

Harris, the 2024-25 NTCA Coach of the Year, returns a loaded roster that features three All-Americans in Sara Duque Jiménez, Ashtyn Woods and Paige Wagner, plus returners Morgan Kline, Aleesha Oden, Beau Anderson and Madi Phillips. Harris also signed three freshmen: Kendall Bollea, Erica DeBello, Alena McDugle following the graduation of seniors Chloe Ciecko, Piper Reams and Mary Orf.
