Women's Bowling Debuts Schedule for 2026-27

8/19/2026 11:00:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. – Head coach Holly Harris and the Wichita State women's bowling program finalized their 2026-27 schedule, featuring 10 tournaments ahead of the Conference USA Championship March 17-21 in Lincoln, Neb.

Wichita State looks to build on a second straight NCAA Final Four appearance that culminated in a national runner-up finish. The Shockers finished 79-36 and added an Arlington Regional title to the program's lengthy list of accomplishments that includes 11 ITC National Championships.

The Shockers will compete in four fall tournaments and six spring tournaments before kicking off postseason play. Nine of the tournaments are on the road, with one home competition as Wichita State and Newman once again co-host the Mid-States Championships at Bowlero Northridge to open the season. Wichita State has won the Mid-States Championship 31 times since the competition began in the 1974-75 season. The Mid-States competition is classified as an exhibition due to the inclusion of non-NCAA teams in the field.

The regular season begins at the Destination Orlando tournament for the second straight season on Oct. 30, hosted by Sacred Heart. From there, WSU hits the road for the Bulldog Classic in San Antonio, Texas, hosted by Louisiana Tech, Nov. 6-8. The Shockers head north to Illinois for the final tournament of the fall, the McKendree Bearcat Invitational, Nov. 13-15, hosted by McKendree.

The spring schedule will be nearly identical to last season, as the Shockers make return trips to the Northeast Classic (January 15-17), Prairie View Invitational (Jan. 22-24), Hammer Saints Invite (Jan. 29-31), Big Red Invite (Feb. 19-21) and Music City Classic (March 5-7). The lone new addition to the schedule is the Stallings Invitational (Feb. 26-28) in Greensboro, N.C.

While Wichita State no longer competes in the Intercollegiate Team Championships, individual WSU bowlers will attempt to qualify for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships to be held on March 12.

Harris returns a loaded roster that features three All-Americans in Aleesha Oden, Sara Duque Jiménez and Ashtyn Woods, plus returners Beau Anderson, Kendall Bollea, Erica DeBello, Morgan Kline and Madi Phillips. Harris also signed two freshmen: Clara Campbell and Olivia Lizzi following the graduation of senior Paige Wagner.
