MANHATTAN, Kan. – Wichita State track and field travels up the road to K-State to compete in the Steve Miller Invitational Friday at the Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track.
 
The Shockers will compete against athletes from 18 other schools, including K-State, Kansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
 
Field events begin at 1:45 p.m., and track races start at 2:35 p.m. The invite section of track events starts at 6:25 p.m.
 
Last time out, the Shockers split between three meets. Destiny Masters recorded a conference-leading pentathlon score of 4,083 points at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational at K-State, and 13 other Shockers recorded marks that rank in the top five of the American Athletic Conference.
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
After running the No. 2 time in school history in his season opener at K-State, Jason Parrish will race in the 400 on the same track with the chance to set a new school record. His personal best is 47.78, and the record is held by Adam Gauzy with a time of 47.52.
 
Last time out at the Coach Wilson Invitational, Jaleel Montgomery and Jason Parrish ran the No. 3 and No. 4 60-meter times in Wichita State history, just 0.01 and 0.02 seconds off Tanner Brown and Denvoir Griffin's school record of 6.76.
 
Already the Wichita State indoor high jump record holder, tied with J'Lynn Jedesma, Destiny Masters has the opportunity to claim it outright with a personal best at the Steve Miller Invitational.

ROAD TO VIRGINIA BEACH
The 2025 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Va. Selections will be from qualifying performances from Friday, Nov. 29 to Sunday, Mar. 2. The top 16 men and women in each event qualify to compete at the championship meet. The final list of meet participants will be available on Tuesday, Mar. 4. On Wednesday, March 12, the final championships start lists will be posted on the NCAA website.
