Shockers End Regular Season with Ninth Place Finish in Oklahoma

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Wichita State women's golf team finished up their final regular season tournament of the year with a ninth-place finish in the Oral Roberts Spring Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
The Shockers finished tied for ninth with a score of 915, 51 strokes over-par. The Shockers compiled round scores of 306, 310, and 299. 
 
 Competing as an individual, Tulsa's Sirah Steinhoff won the individual title with a score of 213, three strokes under-par, and Abilene Christian won the team trophy with a score of 886, 22 strokes over-par, just two ahead of second place and host, Oral Roberts.

Kate Tilma got off to a strong start with a solid two-over round to open play in Oklahoma. Lauren Thiele wasn't far behind at three-over to put the pair in 13th and 21st respectively through the opening round.

The Shockers couldn't make any progress on the team leaderboard in round two, remaining in 10th place moving into the final 18 holes.

In the final round, the Shockers posted their best round as a team at 299, just 11 strokes over par. 
 
Mackenzie Wilson led the way with a much-improved 72 round to jump up 20 spots on the individual leaderboard. 

Madison Slayton and Sarah Lawson also recorded their best rounds of the tournament with 76 and 75, respectively.
