WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State sends a dozen athletes across town to compete in the Friends Invitational at Adair Austin Stadium.
Seven women and five men from the Shockers track and field program will be competing Sunday at the Friends Invitational.
Adam Gauzy,
Jace Coppoc,
Richard Sandefur and
Clifford Robinson III will be competing in Shocker gear, while
Aidan Camp will be competing unattached. Representing the Shockers on the women's side will be
Kelsey Slawson,
Tyra Bickham and
Meagan Williams.
Alex Adams,
Camryn Slatten,
Jaden Damon and
Raianna Maples will be competing unattached.
Robinson III and Sandefur will each compete in both the 100m and 200m dash, while Coppoc and Gauzy will run the 400m. Camp is entered in the hammer throw, competing unattached.
On the women's side, Slawson is back in action a week after setting the school record in the shot put (15.13m/49-7.75) in the shot put at the Texas Relays, she is entered in the shot put and discus along with Bickham, while Williams will compete in the hammer throw. Adams is competing unattached in the discus and hammer throws, while Slatten will run unattached in the 1500m. Damon and Maples, both competing unattached, enter the long jump, while Damon will also triple jump and Maples will run the 100m dash.
Wichita State host the K.T. Woodman April 10-14, the decathlon and heptathlon begins Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., and 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday.
