TF Preview: Friends Spring Open/Midwest Classic

Wichita State track and field is set for week two of the outdoor season as the team splits to compete at the Friends Spring Open in Wichita and the Midwest Classic in Emporia on Thursday and Friday.
 
The meet schedule was adjusted from its original days to accommodate inclement weather on Saturday.
 
A group of javelin throwers and heptathletes will travel up the road to Emporia State to compete in the Midwest Classic. The javelin will take place on Thursday, starting with the women at 3:30 p.m. and the men following, while the heptathlon will occur over the course of both days, beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. on Friday. Jenna Kuepker is the No. 2 seed in the women's javelin.
 
At the Friends Spring Open, hammer throw will kick off the field event competition on Thursday at 10 a.m. with sprinting events beginning at 1 p.m. On Friday, shot put will start the competition at 10 a.m., and distance events will begin on the track at 5 p.m.
