WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State men's tennis team will travel to Austin, Texas to face Texas A&M - Corpus Christi on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m., and then No. 7 Texas on Friday, Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Edgar O. and Melanie A. Weller Tennis Center.
The Shockers (3-4) will be the first non-Texas based opponent that the Islanders (4-2) will face in the spring season. While TAMCC has no ranked players, they won their first four duals by a combined score of 24-3. The Islanders were swept by then-No. 11 (according to Oracle/ITA) Texas by a score of 4-0 back on Feb. 12.
Texas (11-2), who is currently ranked No. 7 in the country, feature five players ranked in singles play: Christian Sigsgaard (No. 11), Yuya Ito (No. 31), Harrison Scott (No. 48), Leonardo Telles (No. 86) and George Goldhoff (No. 124). Last time they played, Texas dealt Wichita State a 6-1 defeat on March 19, 2014, also in Austin. So far this season, the Longhorns have six wins over ranked opponents: No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 10 Florida, No. 23 Oregon, No. 29 SMU, No. 41 Tulsa and No. 47 Arkansas.

Wichita State will play in the Pacific Mountain Invitational (hosted by Pacific) on March 4-5 at teh Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center in Stockton, Calif.
