Final Results

NEWTON, Kan. - The Wichita State women's golf team took home the team and individual titles at the Fall Preview held at Sand Creek Station Golf Course behind three top-20 finishes. 

Taryn Torgerson took home medalist honors with the joint best score of the tournament in round two [70]. On the final day the senior from Buhler, Kan., shot a 3-over 75 to finish at 218 overall and six strokes clear of the three golfers joint for second position. This is the second year running that Torgerson has won the Fall Preview after taking home the title last season in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and is her fourth top-10 and fifth top-20 finish of the season.

Laine Evans finished tied for eighth after shooting 80 in the final 18 to finish with 227 for her second top-10 finish of the year. 

Gavrilla Arya finished the tournament in 14th position individually behind a final round 78. Arya finished only three strokes behind Evans on 230. 

Abbi Shaddix finished in 27th after carding 79 on the final day to finish a stroke ahead of Michelle Ledermann. Shaddix finished on 235 with Ledermann finishing on 236 and tied for 28th. 

All five Shockers took part in the playoff home against Northern Iowa with the Shockers coming out victorious behind a birdie from Ledermann.

As an individual Taylor BeDell finished tied for 32nd with 237. The freshman from Warrensburg, Mo., shot 79 in the final round.

After carding a tournament best 294 in round two the Shockers finished tied for first with 907. Wichita State shot 309 in round three, their highest of the three rounds, with Northern Iowa carding 298 to also finish on 907. Southern Illinois and Missouri State finished tied for third after both finished on 921.

The Shockers wrap up the fall schedule with a victory individually and as a team and now look to the spring schedule and their first American Athletic Conference Championship in 2018.
