LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Wichita State's trio of qualifiers to the NCAA Championship remained the same after Saturday's competition at the 2016 West Preliminaries Friday afternoon at Rock Chalk Park.
Skylar Arneson,
Ashley Petersen and
Damien Odle all qualified on Friday, while WSU's six competitors on Saturday did not advance.
Saturday's performances included:

Shazz Michael Lindo and
Jared Belardo finished 22nd and 23rd, respectively, in the triple jump with jumps of 50-8/15.44m and 50-3.50/15.38m.

Ugis Jocis finished 27th in the 1,500m with a time of 3:47.24.

Taylor Larch-Miller finished fifth in her heat and 33rd overall in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.68.

Jacob James was sixth in his heat and 36th overall in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.47.

Tucker Davis finished fifth in his heat in the 200m with a time of 21.26.
On Friday,
Skylar Arneson was the first to qualify, throwing the hammer 207-7/63.28m before Thursday's weather delay that forced the competition to finish the following day. Arneson's qualifying throw came on his first throw and helped him to a ninth-place finish.
Ashley Petersen was the second Shocker to qualify, and will make her second trip to the NCAA Championship to compete in the high jump. She clearned a personal best height of 5-10.75/1.80m to finish fourth.
Petersen, a 2014 NCAA qualifier who was injured a year ago, cleared a personal-best height of 5-10.75/1.80m on her first try at the height to finish fourth on Friday. The event was moved inside to Anschutz Pavilion due to the weather.
The final flight of the men's javelin had just begun, and
Damien Odle's first throw being measured, when the meet was sent to weather delay. His throw of 233-11/71.30m sent him to the competition's lead, and ended up fourth-best and good enough to qualify for the NCAA Championship when the competition was completed after the break.

Brady Johnson finished 16th in the 10,000 meters in a time of 30:10.46.

Kayla Deighan finished 23rd, 28th and 40th in the 3,000 Steeplechase in times of 10:30.25,10:39.00 and 11:03.07.

Jared Belardo was 17th (24-3.5/7.40m) and Hunter Vieth, 24th (24-0.25/7.32m), in the long jump.

Weston Cottrell was 28th in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 196-8/59.94m, while
Taylor Goldsmith fould his attempts.

Carlea Holt was 29th and
Breanne Borman 37th in the javelin with throws of 150-8/45.92m and 143-8/43.97m, respectively.

Austin Corley was 30th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 52.68.

Chase Pote finished 27th in the javelin after his three throws at 205-6/62.64m.

Jamesia Milton finished 14th with a personal best hammer throw of 199-0/60.67m.

Dylan Reimer finished 17th with a throw of 215-7/65.71m in the javelin.

Taylor Swanson finished 13th in the pole vault with a height of 13-6.25.

Sadie Suenram finsihed 42nd in the discus with a distance of 149-9/45.64m.
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship is set for June 8-11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
