WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's tennis team will
welcome UMKC to Wichita Country Club on Saturday, February 13.
UMKC (2-3) is coming off a loss to Missouri Valley
Conference foe Northern Iowa 4-3 on Saturday, February 9. Freshman Dimitra
Stavrianakou has gathered the most singles victories on the season for the Roos
with a record of 6-4 on the season, including 4-1 in dual matches. It will be
the third MVC opponent UMKC has faced so far in the 2012-13 campaign, as they
beat Drake 4-3 earlier in the season.
No. 66 Wichita State (2-5) is coming off a close 4-3 loss to
Denver on Sunday, February 3. Freshman Rebecca Pedrazzi moved her singles
record to 11-6 on the season, defeating Caroline Schnell, 6-0, 7-5. Julia
Schiller picked up her first win as a Shocker, taking down Steffi Rath in a
three-setter, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
