ST. LOUIS -- Audacia Moore set a personal best in one event and then contributed to another as the Wichita, Kan., native was selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Track Athlete-of-the-Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday, April 5.
Moore, the 2010 MVC Outdoor Champion in the 100-meter and 200-meter
dashes, showed that she can be a force in the 400-meter dash as well as
the junior from Wichita ran a 54.73 to lead the eight-athlete field.
Moore also ran a strong
time of 23.88 in the women's 200-meter dash, placing second and then
finished up the individual portion of her day with a long jump mark of
18' 8". Moore later teamed with Monaye Williams, Samantha Hallman and
Shamoya Pruitt to run a 46.23 in the women's
4x400-meter relay to claim the top spot and slide into sixth on the
Shocker all-time list.
Moore leads the Valley in the 200-meter dash and
400-meter dash with Saturday's times and is currently 24th and 34th in
the nation in those events, respectively.
The Shockers return to action on Friday, April 8 at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge in Sacramento, Calif., while a portion of the team will head to Emporia, Kan., for the Emporia State Relays. Both meets run through Saturday, April 9.
