CARMEL, Ind. - The Shocker men's golf team wrapped up its final regular-season tournament with a sixth-place finish at the Crooked Stick Invitational on Tuesday.

Senior All-American Dustin Garza led the team for the 10th time in the Shockers' 11 tournaments during the Monday-Tuesday contest. He climbed to eighth place when he shot one-over on Tuesday at the Crooked Stick Golf Club.

Garza's 218 (76-72-70) reflected his progress in a tough field that included the nation's No. 19 team, Illinois. The Illini (859) bested second-place Middle Tennessee State by 15 strokes. Although the Shockers' 293 trailed Illinois by just one stroke in the final 18 holes, they found their groove too late. WSU's 899 (305-301-293) brought its last tournament to a close in sixth place.

Freshman Hunter Sparks and sophomore Anders Engell each finished in the top 25. Sparks tallied a pair of 74s en route to 23rd place while Engell trailed the Shocker rookie by a stoke to finish tied for 24th.

Rafael Becker knocked eight strokes off of his first-round score on Tuesday. The freshman shot a 73 (+2) in the final round to land himself in a tie for 29th place.

Freshman Tyler Gann completed the Shocker lineup with a 241, tying for 54th.

The Shockers now turn their focus to the 2010 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Wichita State will serve as the tournament host at the Prairie Dunes Country Club on Apr. 26-27.
