WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State University cross country teams competed against 11 top-30 teams in the country at the Notre Dame Invitational on the Notre Dame Golf Course. Junior
Kellyn Johnson had the highest Shocker finish placing sixth in the women's 5K.
The Shocker women finished in 17th place, while the men combined to place 22nd.
Johnson finished the course in 16:57 to lead the women's team. The Sussex, Wis., native has led the Shocker women each of the first three meets of the season.
Olivia Martinez placed 69th with a time of 18:01 and
Mica Land (18:11) placed 82nd.
On the men's side,
Scott Reed had the highest Shocker finish, placing 79th with a time of 25:13 in the five-mile race. Freshman Tad Eisenhauer finished in 127th with a time of 26:00 and Nick Nowak (26:24) placed 144th.
The Notre Dame men and the Rice University women captured the team titles, while Joshua McDougal of Liberty University and Susan Kuijken of Florida State took individual honors.
