The Wichita State men's golf team finished play at the 2006 Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, La. The invitational was held at the 7,083-yard, par-72 Birk Boilermaker Golf Course. The Shockers finished the invitational in 10th out of 12 teams with an overall score of 920 (310-307-303).
Cameron Bishop led the Shockers with 221 (78-72-71) and ended the invitational tied for 5th.
Ty Sanders tied for 38th with a score of 233 (74-83-76).
Ryan Spears and Brandon Hermreck finished tied for 47th with a score of 236. Spears had rounds of 82, 77, and 77 while Hermreck finished with rounds of 76, 81, and 79. Jeff Zimmerman was not far behind with a score of 239 (83-77-79) and finished in 55th place.
WSU will now have two weeks off before the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament begins on April 24-25 at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kans.
