Shockers Take Ninth at Reflection Bay

HENDERSON, Nev. – Jose Miguel Ramirez notched his sixth top 20 individual finish as Wichita State placed ninth at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational on Wednesday at Reflection Bay Golf Club.
 
The Shockers posted rounds of 303, 281, and 281 for an 865 (+1) team score. Boise State won the team crown with an 841 (-23). Cole Rueck claimed the individual title for the Broncos with a 200 (-16).
 
For the second consecutive tournament, the Shockers did not get off to a strong start, sitting in last place after the opening 18 holes.
 
In the second round, Wichita State responded with Jose Carletta leading the way, firing a season-low 68 to pace the Shockers. Ramirez and Emilio Arellano Lamas were not far behind, each shooting 2-under.
 
In the final round, Michael Robson broke through, going 6-under 66, his second-lowest round of the season. Ramirez added another great round, going 4-under to earn his sixth top 20 finish in seven tournaments this season. Carletta finished just outside the top 20, tying for 24th.
