NORMAN, Okla. – Wichita State claimed 11 top-three finishes with a partial squad competing at the OU O Ring Alumni Open Friday and Saturday at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex.

In the men's pole vault,
Rikard Trogen Hedin cleared a personal-best 4.90m/16'0.75" to place third and move up to tie for seventh in the conference, and
Travon Williams took second in the long jump with a leap of 7.47m/24'6.25"

In the women's javelin, the Shockers went 2-3-4-5, led by
Emma Bezdek, who threw 39.48m/129'6".
Addison Bailey,
Lexi Boss and
Reagan Ayres placed third, fourth and fifth, all throwing within a meter of each other.

Reese Goodlet threw a season-best 49.56m/162'7" on her first throw to place third in the women's discus, while
Jarrett Schmidt and
Eli Johnson placed third and fourth in the men's discus with throws of 51.04m and 50.60m, respectively.

On the track,
Luke Holthusen ran a personal best to win the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.36, and
Cali Kerschen finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.30. In the 400-meter hurdles,
Brock Merz ran 53.87 to finish second.

In the 5,000 meters,
Victor Kemboi and
Bennett Meoli finished second and third, respectively, running 14:40.47 and 15:14.55.

Wichita State pole vault coach
Aliyah Fertig cleared 4.38m/14'4.5" to win the pole vault and wrap up competition at OU.
