TULSA, Okla. – Wichita State's
Alejandro Jacome and
Ilias Worthington earned a doubles win, and Jacome earned his third singles win of the week in Friday's doubles and singles quarterfinals of the 2025 American Conference Individual Tennis Championships.

With the wins, the Shockers are now two wins away in both the singles and doubles brackets from being crowned individual champions of the American.Â

In doubles, Jacome and Worthington built a 7-4 lead, but their opponents from Tulsa won the next three games to force a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, the Shockers jumped out to a 5-1 lead and ultimately won 7-5 to advance to Saturday's doubles semifinal.Â

Later in the day in singles, Jacome defeated 10-seed Guglielmo Verdese 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the singles semifinals.Â

Both singles and doubles semifinals will take place on Saturday. In doubles, the Shockers will face Charlotte's Vasco Prata and Ivan Dreycopp at 9:00 AM. In singles, Jacome will meet Memphis' sixth-seeded Maxime Dubouch at 11:00 AM.
