IRVING, Texas — Wichita State's
Zaid Al Mashni was named an all-conference selection Tuesday, the American Conference office announced.
Â
Al Mashni is the first Shocker to earn all-conference honors since Murkel Dellien and Marius Frosa in 2021 and the first in the
Darragh Glavin era.
Â
The sophomore from Jordan posted records of 14-8 in singles and 14-5 in doubles. He recorded 11 singles wins and 13 doubles wins in dual matches this season. He was ranked throughout the spring and climbed as high as No. 66 during the fall season.
Â
Al Mashni delivered the clinching point in wins over Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Denver, all key victories for the Shockers. He also paired with
Pablo Roche Alcaya for a 6-3 win over Oklahoma's No. 32-ranked duo of Bruno Nhavene and Oscar Lacides on Feb. 6. He was named American Conference Player of the Week on March 3.
