WICHITA, Kan. -- The #5-ranked Wichita State women's bowling team opens the 2025-26 season hosting the Mid-States Championships. The competition begins Saturday, October 18 and concludes Sunday, October 19 at Bowlero Northridge.

The tournament is classified as an exhibition for the women's program and will not count toward NCAA rankings or stats.
The field features 24 programs, plus JV teams from Wichita State, McPherson, Newman and Ottawa. All 10 Shockers on the roster will compete.

The schedule of the tournament is as follows:
- Saturday - Six team games beginning at 9:15 AM CT
- Sunday - Four, four-game Baker blocks beginning at 8:15 AM CT followed by eight-team, single-elimination bracket play to determine final placings
Baker matches are structured with five players combining to bowl one game, each bowling two frames. Player one bowls frames 1 and 6, player two bowls frames 2 and 7, player three bowls frames 3 and 8, player four bowls frames 4 and 9 and player 5 bowls frames 5 and 10. In traditional matches, five players each bowl an individual game, with all five games added together.
The Shockers have won the Mid-States Championship 31 times since the competition began in the 1974-75 season, including last season when they bested Oklahoma Christian, William Penn and Sam Houston to claim the title.
