NEW ORLEANS – The Wichita State women's golf team wrapped up their second tournament of the spring season on Tuesday afternoon.
The Shockers finished in 15th with a score of 938, 74 strokes over-par. The Shockers compiled round scores of 319, 312, and 307. Missouri's Fleur Van Beek won the individual title with a score of 213, three strokes under-par, and Colorado State won the team trophy with a score of 882, 18 strokes over par.
The Shockers struggled out of the gates on day one, as the front nine proved troublesome across the board for the black and yellow. As a team, the Shockers were a combined 26 strokes over par through the opening nine, and many of those struggles continued onto the back nine.
Sarah Lawson recorded the only Shocker birdie on the day on hole 17.

The Shockers saw improvement on the second day, particularly on the front nine, where the Shockers were just 15 strokes over par the second time around, but the team still found themselves trailing the pack through the first two days of play.
Brooklyn Benn was the most improved Shocker in the second round, finishing just six strokes over-par on day two after finishing 14-over to start the tournament.

The Shockers put together their best performance of the tournament on the final day, finishing just 19 over-par to give the Shockers a 15th place finish for the tournament.
Mackenzie Wilson led the Shockers to the finish line with an excellent final round. The sophomore ended the final round finishing even on the final day and she jumped up 20 spots on the individual leaderboard to finish in 40th place. She also recorded the only Shocker eagle of the tournament on hole 11.
