MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Wichita State women's tennis team will compete for the first time as a full team in the fall season when they travel to Leftwich Tennis Center to battle in the 2024 ITA Central Region Championships, beginning on October 9.
 
The six-day event begins on Wednesday morning and will start the journey to the 2024 NCAA Division I Individual Fall Championships in Waco, Texas at Baylor's Hurd Tennis Center, November 19-24. 
 
The two singles finalists from each of the 13 regions and the doubles champion of each region will punch their ticket to the Fall Championships. Those that fall short of the championship matches may still be able to earn bids to Waco by earning bids to the ITA Sectional Championships and the ITA Conference Masters tournament in early November. This event also is an opportunity for players to get matches in against a flurry of opponents from around the country.
 
All Shockers will compete in singles and all but Clara Whitaker will compete in doubles.
 
The Shocker matches scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday are below. All matches below are slated to begin at 9:00 AM Central Time in Memphis unless otherwise indicated. Winners of the first qualifying matches in singles will play another round of qualifiers later in the day on Wednesday for a spot in the main draw.
