HOUSTON – The Shocker duo of Giorgia Roselli and Theodora Chantava continued their run at the AAC Individual Championships with a narrow win over a pair from East Carolina on Friday afternoon at George R. Brown Tennis Center.

Roselli and Chantava picked up a tight 8-7 (5) win over East Carolina's Ines Bachir and Xenia Jeromin to advance to Saturday's doubles semifinals.

The Shocker pair will meet the top-seed in the field in Florida Atlantic's Millie-Mae Matthews and Malwina Rowinski tomorrow morning for a spot in the doubles final.

In singles, Kristina Kudryavtseva defeated North Texas' Lou Chalard when Chalard was forced to retire late in the third set.

Kudryavtseva will play Tulane's Leigh Van Zyl at 9:00 AM tomorrow for a spot in the consolation final. If Kudryavtseva wins, she will play either Tulsa's Lily Hutchings or North Texas' Stanislava Shulzhenko at noon on Saturday.

The doubles match for Roselli and Chantava is slated to begin at 9:00 AM with the winner advancing to Sunday's doubles final. The winner of the final earns an automatic bid to the ITA Conference Master's Tournament in Rome, Georgia November 7-10.
