Wichita State Picked 12th in AAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The American Athletic Conference, less than a month away from the 2024-25 season, announced the women's basketball preseason standings, ranking Wichita State 12th out of 13 teams.
 
The AAC preseason coaches' poll was released Friday ahead of the conference's annual Basketball Media Days on Sunday and Monday, where second-year head coach Terry Nooner, graduate guard Taylor Jameson and sophomore guard Salese Blow will be representing the Shockers in Dallas, Texas.
 
Fans can tune in to ESPN+ at 12:20 p.m. CT to hear from Nooner, followed by Wichita State men's basketball head coach Paul Mills at 12:30 p.m.
 
South Florida was picked to win the conference for the fifth-consecutive year, receiving eight first-place votes. The Bulls' Romi Levy was selected as Co-Preseason Player of the Year along with North Texas's Tommisha Lampkin. The Mean Grean and reigning AAC Champion Rice were picked second in the coaches' poll with North Texas receiving three first-place votes and the Owls receiving two.
 
Rice, UTSA and Tulsa also landed players on the Preseason All-Conference First Team.
 
Wichita State hosts Northeastern State for an exhibition game on Wed., Oct. 30 before playing its official season opener against Oklahoma Christian in Charles Koch Arena. on Mon., Nov. 4.
