WICHITA – Wichita State women's basketball players,
Abby Cater,
Taya Davis and
Maimouna Sissoko, have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Academic All-District Team honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.

Cater, a graduate student from PG County, Md., led the Shockers in scoring, rebounding and steals, averaging 13.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game. She played in 30 games, making 25 starts and finishing in double figures 18 times with six 20-plus point performances. Cater finished the season ranked third in the American Conference in steals per game and sixth in free throw percentage (79.7 percent). In the Shockers' home win over Memphis, Cater broke Wichita State's single-game scoring record, putting up 42 points. Cater holds a perfect 4.0 GPA while earning a Sport Leadership and Branding Certificate.

Davis, a graduate student from Decatur, Ill., played in all 31 games for the Shockers, making 26 starts. She led the team in assists, averaging 3.6 per game, good for 11
th in the American Conference. Davis maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA while earning a Master of Education in Sport Management.

Sissoko, a senior from Bamako, Mali, appeared in 28 games this season for the Shockers, making 13 starts. She averaged 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, leading Wichita State in scoring twice. Sissoko holds a GPA of 3.615 while earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership and Learning.
