TEMPE, Ariz. – The Wichita State women's tennis team was honored after another successful year in the classroom by being named as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team. In addition, seven Shockers were named as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
In order to be recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team, teams had to post a GPA of 3.20 or greater during the 2022-23 academic year. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals had to possess a GPA of 3.50-or-better.
The women's tennis team posted a 2022-23 GPA of 3.67 to qualify for the award for a remarkable tenth consecutive year. The seven Shockers to be named as ITA Scholar-Athletes were
Jessica Anzo,
Theodora Chantava, Marlene Förster,
Harriet Hamilton,
LingWei Kong,
Kristina Kudryavtseva, and
Natsumi Kurahashi.
Kurahashi, Hamiilton, and Kong all claimed their second ITA Scholar-Athlete award in their Shocker careers. Anzo, Förster, Kudryavtseva, and Chantava all received their first Scholar-Athlete award as Shockers.
