WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State's path to a conference tournament title is set, as the Shockers will be the No. 8 seed in next week's American Athletic Conference Championship.
Wichita State (16-13, 6-10) enters the tournament as the No. 8 seed and will face the No. 9 seed Temple Owls (11-17, 6-10). It will be the third meeting this season between the two programs and second in a little over a week. Wichita State defeated Temple, 79-67, on Feb. 25 in Charles Koch Arena - the regular season home finale.
This will be Wichita State's first appearance in the conference tournament as the No. 8 seed. Wichita State has been the No. 9 seed each of the last two seasons. The Shockers and Owls will be the first game of the conference tournament on Monday, March 6 at 1 p.m. CT in Dickies Arena on ESPN+.
The winner will advance to Tuesday's quarterfinal matchup against the top seed and regular season champion, South Florida Bulls.
