WICHITA, Kan. – The Shockers blew past Presbyterian 60-41 in their home opener, giving first-year head coach
Terry Nooner his first win as a head coach Wednesday afternoon in Charles Koch Arena.

"I'm happy to get my first win of my career," Nooner said. "It was a great experience. It's been a lot of hard work, and it's just a testament to our team We did a good job of following a great game plan with only one day of prep."

Tre'Zure Jobe led the Shockers (1-1) in scoring with 13 points, followed by
Daniela Abies with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Jayla Murray put up eight points and eight rebounds in her second Division I game, and freshman
Salese Blow scored nine points for the second-consecutive game.

Jeniah Thompson snagged a game-high nine boards, and
DJ McCarty recorded a game-high three steals.

Presbyterian (0-2) gained a 6-2 advantage to start the game, but the Shockers responded with an 8-0 run to take the lead and never relinquish it again.

Jobe scored six of her 13 points in the first quarter before Blow helped the Shockers go on a 13-0 run to start the second quarter.

Wichita State outscored Presbyterian 19-8 in the second quarter to go into halftime up 14.

The Shockers had 24 rebounds in the first half, just five less than the entirety of game one against Oklahoma.

Abies started heating up on offense coming out of the break, scoring 10 second-half points.

The Shocker defense held PC's Aubrie Kierscht, the leading scorer against Kansas State to just two points as Christina Kline stepped up for the Blue Hose with a team-high 11 points.

Wichita State committed just 10 turnovers while forcing 17 Blue Hose turnovers.

Both teams struggled from behind the arc, going just 4-for-40 combined (10%).
