Wichita State Claims Top 25 Finish for Team GPA

WICHITA, Kan. - A stellar year in the classroom has landed Wichita State women's golf a top 25 team finish among all Division I schools in 2021-22, it was announced Wednesday afternoon by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Wichita State tied for 21st with a team GPA of 3.787, along with the University of Illinois. New Mexico took home the All-Scholar Team GPA Award with a GPA of 3.961.

The Shockers had five student-athletes (Kenni Henson, Megan Lucas, Mar Vidal, Sarah Lawson and Madison Slayton) named WGCA All-American Scholars earlier this month. Lucas is also Wichita State's nomination for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year.

About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
