Wichita State track and field is sending the majority of the team to Lincoln, Nebraska Friday and Saturday for the Adidas Classic, while the men's 5,000-meter crew will race at the Washburn Open on Friday.
The Shocker women currently rank No. 7 in the Midwest region and the men sit at No. 9 heading into the weekend.

The Shockers broke four facility records and six meet records at the All-Kansas Invite in Topeka, highlighted by a sub-24 200-meter performance by
Paula Garcia.
Michael Bryan moved up to 22
nd in the nation the weight throw, joining
Destiny Masters (No. 9 high jump; No. 11 pentathlon),
Tanner Brown (No. 10 heptathlon) and
Maria Romero (No. 21 pentathlon) in the national top 25.

A LOOK INTO LINCOLN:
At the Adidas Classic, the Shockers will compete against two nationally-ranked teams on the men's side in Northern Arizona (No. 5) and Nebraska (No. 12), along with South Dakota, South Dakota St. and Texas St.

Nebraska has four throwers and a 60-meter hurdler currently ranked in the top 10 nationally. Northern Arizona brings five top-10 distance runners on the men's side, Texas State has a top-10 athlete in the women's weight throw and South Dakota St. has two pole vaulters in the top 10, one man, one woman.
