COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Three Wichita State men's golfers finished under par and the Shockers tied for fourth-place out of 14 teams at the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
 
Brock Polhill (66-71-73—210, -6) took fifth out of 78 individuals, shaving seven strokes off of his 54-hole best. His highest previous finish was a 19^th-place showing last month's GCU Invitational.
 
Polhill carded 11 birdies and three Eagles over three rounds to become WSU's fourth different scoring leader in as many weeks.
 
Marcus Wochner (69-73-69—211, -5) ended in a tie for sixth-place after a strong showing in Tuesday's final round that included just one bogey. It was his third top-10 finish this spring.
 
Frank Thomas (74-71-70—215, -1) carded three birdies and a bogey over his last 18 holes to finish under par for the week. He climbed 10 spots on Tuesday into a tie for 14^th.
 
Dawson Lewis (74-69-85—228, +12) and Zac Owens (74-75-81—230, +14) tied for 55^th and 63^rdrespectively. Competing unattached, Lake Leroux (74-75-76—225, +9) tied for 46^th.
 
Host Missouri (-25) shot 9-under on Tuesday to overtake Kansas State (-18) for the team title.
 
WSU (283-284-293—860, -4) finished one stroke behind third-place Illinois State (-5).
 
Mizzou's Ross Steelman (ranked 44^th in GolfStat's Division I ratings) finished 16-under to win the individual competition by two shots over Illinois State's David Perkins (-12).
 
The Shockers are in Montogomery, Texas next week for the Sam Houston State Bearkat Invitational, Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 12-13, in what will be their final tuneup before the American Athletic Conference Championship.
