COLUMBIA, Mo. – Wichita State owns three of the top-12 spots on the individual leaderboard and finds itself in third-place out of 14 teams heading into the final round of the Missouri Tiger Invitational at the Club at Old Hawthorne.
 
Brock Polhill (66-71—137, -7) finished both of Monday's rounds in the red and sits fourth out of 78 on the individual leaderboard. He eagled back-to-back holes during the morning session on his way to a career-best 6-under, 66.
 
Marcus Wochner (69-73—142, -2) birdied six holes in the opening round before falling back into a tie for ninth.
 
Dawson Lewis (74-69—143, -1) played his last nine holes of the afternoon at 4-under to grab a share of 12^th-place.
 
Frank Thomas (74-71—145, +1) also climbed 15 spots during the afternoon session into a tie for 24^th.
 
Zac Owens (74-75—149) and Columbia native Lake Leroux (74-75—149), who competed individually, are both tied for 39^th.
 
Kansas State leads the team tally at 18-under followed by host Missouri (-16). Third-place WSU (-9) is nine shots back. Illinois State (-4) was the only other team under par on day one.
 
Polhill enters Tuesday four shots behind Kansas State's Will Hopkins. Missouri's Ross Steelman (No. 44 in GolfStat's Division I rankings) is second at 10-under, followed by Illinois State's David Perkins (-8) in third-place.
 
Play resumes at 8 a.m. CDT Tuesday.
