Surging Shockers Set for Twin Oaks

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Wichita State men's golf team looks to continue its momentum Monday and Tuesday at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.
 
The Shockers won last week's season debut at the GCU Invitational, helped by top-10 finishes from Zac Owens and newcomer Marcus Wochner.
 
This is WSU's first appearance in the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. The Shockers had signed on to compete in last year's tournament, but it was canceled due to COVID-19.
 
Six of the 18 teams in the Twin Oaks field hail from the Missouri Valley Conference, including host Missouri State.
 
Action begins at 8:30 a.m. on both days at the par-71 Twins Oaks Country Club. Teams will tackle 36 holes on Monday and 18 more Tuesday morning.

The Field: 18 teams
Central Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Evangel, Loyola, Missouri State, North Alabama, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Omaha, Oral Roberts, SIU Edwardsville, South Dakota, UT Martin, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Wichita State, plus individuals from the University of Kansas.
 
Shocker Lineup:
1 -- Zac Owens (R-So.*) – T-4th at GCU; 4th Career Top-10 Finish
2 -- Marcus Wochner (Jr.) – T-8th last week at GCU Invitational
3 -- Brock Polhill (So.*) – Matched career-bests for 18 (68) and 54 holes (217) at GCU.  
4 -- Dawson Lewis (So.*) – 10 birdies last week 
5 -- Jack Glenn (R-Fr.) – Made Shocker debut at GCU after 2019-20 redshirt.
*=Granted an extra year of eligibility due to COVID-19.
