WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State and Tulane meet for the second time in the span of 10 days, this time in New Orleans for a 7 p.m. tip Saturday night.

ON THE AIR
Saturday's game can be heard on the radio at KFH 97.5 FM/1240 AM with the voice of Shocker Women's Basketball Steve Strain calling the action. Strain is in his seventh season broadcasting games for the women's program. The game will also be televised on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.

THE AMERICAN ON ESPN+
The American Athletic Conference is in its first season of a new TV deal that will see a majority of Wichita State's games televised on ESPN+. Fans can find more information and how to subscribe to ESPN+ here.

A CASE OF THE 'RONA
COVID-19 has wrecked havoc on the 2020-21 Wichita State women's basketball program. To date, the Shockers have had eight games postponed due to positive tests within the program. The Shockers are coming off a pause in all team-related activities due to a lack of players available that saw games against ECU, Memphis and USF all postponed. As of now, Wichita State's two matchups vs. SMU are the only contests that will not be made up, due to the Mustangs canceling the remainder of their season.

LAST TIME OUT
Wichita State dropped its second straight game following a 65-57 loss to Temple last Saturday. The Shockers were swept by the Owls in the two regular season meetings. Mariah McCully scored 13 of her game and season-high 18 points in the first half. Asia Strong registered her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, but was just 5-of-16 from the field. She has tallied 10 or more points in seven consecutive games. Seraphine Bastin scored all 12 of her points in the second half to go with seven rebounds. Wichita State was just 2-of-9 from three-point range, both tying season lows. Their five offensive rebounds were also a season low.

STRONG START
Wichita State junior forward Asia Strong is off to fast start in her first season at Wichita State. The South Bend, Ind., native has scored 10 or more points in 11 of the team's 12 games, including two games of 20 or more. In Wichita State's seven league games, she has scored 11 or more in every game and is averaging 14.6 points. Strong set a season high in points and rebounds vs. UNI on Dec. 6 with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Strong leads Wichita State in scoring at 14.9 points per game for the season, which ranks fifth in the American Athletic Conference. Her 44.5% shooting also ranks fifth in the league.

SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE
Tulane enters the matchup at 13-5 overall and 9-4 in league play, and winners of four straight. The Green Wave are led by freshman Jerkaila Jordan. Jordan leads Tulane in scoring (14.9), assists (52) and steals (35) and also pulls down 4.2 rebounds a game. Jordan ranks in the top three of the AAC in points, field goals made, field goal percentage and steals. Krystal Freeman, a Preseason First Team All-Conference selection averages 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds a game. Mia Heide is The American's top shot blocker at 1.53 per game. As a team, Tulane tops the league in assists, field goal percentage, free throws made, free throw attempts and rebounds.

THE SERIES VS. TULANE
Wichita State and Tulane have met seven times prior to Saturday's matchup. The two teams split the season series last season with the road team winning each contest. Tulane took the first meeting just 10 days ago in Wichita. Wichita State is 3-0 vs. Tulane in New Orleans. Wichita State's average margin of victory in the three wins at Tulane is 9.0, even after a last second three-pointer lifted the Shockers to a one-point win in the Big Easy last February.

LAST MEETING
Wichita State and Tulane met only 10 days ago in Wichita, a game that featured 12 ties and 12 lead changes. The Green Wave found a way to escape with a slim 57-55 win in the final seconds. Seraphine Bastin and Trajata Colbert both recorded double-doubles for Wichita State. Bastin scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Colbert grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 11 points. Asia Strong and Mariah McCully both added 11 points as well. Wichita State shot a season-worst 3-of-20 from beyond the arc and went to the free throw line only six times. Tulane made up for a 2-of-16 mark from long range at the line where they were 19-of-27.

SHOCKERS ADD WALK-ON
Wichita State added some roster depth over the holiday break in the addition of walk-on Mariah McKinney. McKinney is a Wichita native having played her prep basketball at nearby Wichita East High School. Most recently she completed a season at Fort Scott Community College in 2018-19. McKinney played in 27 contests for the Greyhounds and averaged 5.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

SECOND HONOR ROLL FOR BASTIN
Junior Seraphine Bastin claimed her second American Athletic Conference Honor Roll selection on Feb. 8. In Wichita State's two contests vs. Tulane and Temple, Bastin averaged 13.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists on 46.4 percent shooting. Against Tulane, she recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds to go with five assists. She then finished the week scoring all 12 points after halftime to go with seven boards vs. Temple. It was the weekly honor of her career.

... make Wichita State 617-706 all-time

A SHOCKER LOSS WOULD...
... make them 4-9 this the season
... make them 1-7 in conference play
... drop them to 4-4 all-time vs. Tulane
... be their first loss ever at Tulane
... give Tulane its first winning streak in the series
... lower Adams' career coaching record to 457-305
... make Adams 330-268 at the Division I level
... make Wichita State 616-707 all-time

DOUBLE-DOUBLE UP
Juniors Seraphine Bastin and Trajata Colbert both logged double-doubles in Wichita State's contest vs. Tulane on Feb. 3. Bastin scored a team-high 14 points to go with 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Colbert pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 11 points. It was her first double-double of the season and third career. The duo became the first Shocker teammates to record a double-double in the same game since Feb. 26, 2018 at Tulsa when Rangie Bessard and Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage accomplished the feat.
