KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After breaking the program record for lowest 54-hole score in its last tournament, the Wichita State women's golf team has kept that momentum in the first two rounds of the Kansas City Intercollegiate.

The Shockers are currently in third place, with three players in the top 20 after 36 holes. Senior Laine Evans looks to claim her highest finish of the spring season, coming in a tie for 7th place after the first day. Evans came up with three birdies to finish 1-under par in the first round, finishing with a 77 in the second round to collect a score of 148.

Junior Annika Chickering aims for her highest career finish, currently sitting in a tie for 13th place after shooting 151. Chickering was just one stroke over from tying her career low, recording a 74 in the first round.

Senior Gavrilla Arya can claim her fourth top 20 finish of the season, where she is currently tied for 19th heading into the final round. Arya collected three birdies in the first 36 holes to finish with a score of 152.

Freshmen Hana Mirnik and Chiara Arya are tied for 41st, shooting 160 each to round out the Wichita State scorecard.

Wichita State totaled 604, finishing two strokes ahead of host institution UMKC and UT Rio Grande Valley by two strokes after the first two rounds. The Shockers trail Missouri State by eight strokes heading into the final day.

Oral Roberts leads the way with a 580 team score, holding a commanding 15-stroke lead. Beatriz Garcia was the only player to card two under 70 scores in the tournament, resulting in her leading the individual standings heading into Tuesday's final round.
