Adams, Brown Sign with Shocker Women’s Golf

11/19/2025 11:10:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State women's golf head coach Tom McCurdy announced the signing of Brooke Adams and Eva Brown on Wednesday.

Adams, a native of Orland Park, Illinois, brings an impressive résumé to Shocker Nation. She holds a junior 18-hole scoring average of 73 and has won three junior golf titles — two on the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour — and the 2024 Marathon Petroleum Tournament on April 26, 2024, an event on the American Junior Golf Association Tour.

"Brooke is really talented, and I think that her ceiling as a player is very high," McCurdy said. "I think that a lot of college coaches have really overlooked her, and in a couple of years, people are going to wonder how they missed her."

She is a four-time all-conference honoree, a two-time region champion, and a two-time sectional runner-up.

"I like Brooke's skill set a lot," McCurdy said. "She's brilliant on the course and has a fantastic open mind with a learning attitude."

She is the daughter of Mark and Pamela Adams and has a brother, Brian. Her father played baseball at Lewis University, and her brother played baseball at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.

Brown comes to Shocker Nation from St. Louis and Mehlville High School, where she posted a 72.2 scoring average in her high school career. She won two conference tournament championships and is a two-time conference player of the year.

"Eva is a talented and fundamentally sound player who hits the ball a long way with high ball flight," McCurdy said. "She will be able to come in and attack college-level courses right away."

Brown is a three-time state qualifier and has played in highly coveted national events, including the 2025 U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur Championship, the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship and the 2025 PGA Junior Championship.

"Eva is a positive, open-minded, disciplined player with proven results," McCurdy said. "She will be able to develop here into a really solid college golfer."

She is the daughter of Anthony and Jennifer Brown. Her grandfather, Charles, played football at Truman State University. She plans to major in exercise science at Wichita State.
